Frequently asked questions

Do I have to move my files into VaultFerry?

No. You connect your own S3, Google Cloud, or Azure bucket and your files stay exactly where they are. VaultFerry mints a short-lived signed link from your credentials, and the file travels directly from your bucket to your client — it never passes through, or is stored on, our servers.

Can I put a password on a client delivery?

Yes, on the Pro plan, where you can also set how long a link stays live — up to 30 days — and revoke it at any time. Free links still expire, at 24 hours, but the password option is a Pro feature.

Does my client need an account to download?

No. Your client clicks the link and downloads, with no sign-up and no app. When you need files back from them, a no-account upload link (AWS S3 and Google Cloud Storage) lets them drop assets straight into your bucket the same way.

Whose branding does my client see?

On the Pro plan the "Powered by VaultFerry" badge is removed, so the page reads as a clean, neutral delivery. On the Business plan you add your own logo and accent color for a fully white-label page. Either way the file moves directly between your bucket and your client.

Can I tell whether my client actually downloaded the file?

On paid plans, yes. The Pro plan shows when each link was downloaded in your dashboard. The Business plan adds the approximate, country-level region of the access, an email the moment a download happens, and a one-year archive of past sends.
